Restore speech removed by an AI cut

Reveal removed material and restore words or a take you want to keep.

If the AI removes speech you want to keep, inspect the removed material in the transcript and restore it before exporting.

Gling transcript selection controls with the restore action beside Correct.
Selection controls for a demo edit. Use the cut or restore action to change the selected speech.

Open the control screenshot at full size.

Find the removed speech

  1. Open the project and turn on Show cuts.
  2. Find the missing phrase or take in the transcript. Listen around the cut to identify the exact words you want.
  3. Select the removed speech and choose Uncut in the selection controls.
  4. Play across both sides of the restored section. Check that the intended take is present and the transition sounds right.

Remove a different take

If you restored one version of a sentence and now have a duplicate, select the version you do not want and choose Cut. Review the result before exporting.

If only the pause sounds too tight

When the speech is present but the space around it sounds abrupt, check Pace and padding. Pacing controls change silence and cut boundaries. They do not replace restoring an entire removed take.

If you still cannot recover it

Compare the original recording with the Gling preview. Send support the project name, the approximate source timestamp and the words you expected to hear. Say whether the problem appears in the preview, the final export or both. Keep your original recording and project.
