If the exported picture looks brighter, flatter or less saturated, compare the original, Gling preview and exported result at the same moment. Use the same display and player where possible.
Find where the appearance changes
- Open the original recording outside Gling.
- Compare it with the Gling preview.
- Open the exported MP4, or the imported timeline in your destination editor.
- Note the first stage that looks different. Record the export choice and any color settings in the destination editor.
Test an SDR/Rec.709 copy
Converting the original footage to SDR/Rec.709 before importing it into Gling resolved a confirmed color problem after CapCut export.
- Keep the original recording unchanged.
- Use a video conversion or editing tool that can create an SDR/Rec.709 copy.
- Import a short converted sample into a new Gling project.
- Export it through the same route and compare the result.
The conversion happens before Gling import. Changing only the final export setting is a different test.
What this check can tell you
The earlier case confirmed that the conversion helped that recording. Its source HDR profile was not inspected, so it does not establish that every color difference is caused by HDR or that this fixes every export.
If the difference remains
Send support the source codec and color profile if known, Gling version, destination editor and version, export option and comparison screenshots from the same timestamp. Say whether the Gling preview also differs from the original.
