You can ask Gling to find highlights or choose the passage yourself. Generated results need review, particularly when the source is converted into a vertical frame.
Start from a recording
- On the home screen, choose Extract shorts and add your recording.
- Check the spoken language and continue through the options shown.
- Choose the aspect ratio and enhancements you want when Gling presents them. Portrait is 9:16; square is 1:1; landscape is 16:9.
- Review the resulting highlights. Listen to each one for a complete opening, useful context and a sensible ending.
Automatic selection can return fewer useful moments than you expected. A longer recording does not guarantee a particular number of distinct Shorts.

Choose a passage yourself
- Open the recording in the editor.
- Select the transcript passage you want to use.
- Choose Export clip.
- Review Choose media and enhancements, select the aspect ratio and available options, then continue with Enhance and export.
This is useful when automatic highlights miss a passage or you need a specific topic.

Adjust length and framing
Choose Edit on a generated short to open it in the editor. Trim or cut the content to the duration you need; the generation workflow does not provide a guaranteed maximum-duration result.
Check the entire vertical frame, including the top of the speaker's head and any gestures or on-screen text. Review zoom and face-centering controls in Zoom and framing. A correctly detected face does not guarantee that every crop or destination export looks right.
Check captions and export
Review caption text, style and placement for the chosen aspect ratio. In the Shorts list, use the individual clip's Export action and wait for completion. Open the saved video and check its duration, sound, crop and captions.
If an export fails, keep the edited short and report the exact error. If framing is wrong, include a screenshot from Gling and from the saved output so support can distinguish an editor-preview issue from an export issue.
