Use transcript selections for spoken passages and the timeline for boundaries that need a closer look. Play through each changed join before relying on the result.
Remove or restore speech
- Select the words you want to remove from the transcript.
- Choose Cut.
- Play before and after the join to check the meaning and sound.
- To bring removed speech back, turn on Show cuts, select the removed passage and choose Uncut.
Use Correct for a transcription error. Changing a word's spelling does not remove or replace the recorded speech.

Split and trim in the timeline
- Move the playhead to the boundary you want and use Split.
- Select the relevant timeline clip. Its context menu offers Cut or Uncut according to the current state.
- Where a clip edge has a resize handle, drag it to refine the boundary.
- Listen to the result and make sure a soft word ending or the start of the next phrase is intact.
For automatic silence spacing, use Pace and Padding. A timeline split and a pacing adjustment solve different editing tasks.
Undo a recent change
Use the editor's Undo action or the standard Undo shortcut, Command+Z on Mac or Ctrl+Z on Windows, when available. Review what was reversed before continuing. Text-input focus can change which action receives a keyboard shortcut.
Undo is not the same as restoring a deleted project or requesting an older server copy. For a missing or invalid project, keep the local data and follow project recovery checks.
If too much material disappears
Check the selected text range and Show cuts first. Restore the passage, then cut a smaller selection. If it remains wrong, send support a timestamp and a short recording of the action. Avoid processing the entire source again until the current edit has been investigated.
