First identify whether Gling closes at startup, one project will not load, playback stalls, or an export fails. These symptoms can have different causes.
Preserve your work
Keep the original recordings and any readable local copy of the project. If the editor still responds, allow pending saves and transfers to finish before restarting. Do not clear browser site data, remove application folders or delete the affected project as a general troubleshooting step.
If Gling will not open
- Record the error, operating system and approximate time of the crash.
- Close Gling completely and try opening it once more.
- Use the official update and installation instructions to check that you are launching the current copy.
- If it still closes, contact support with the version and failure time. Mention whether it happens before the home screen or after opening a specific project.
A browser or another device can help you check for a synced copy, but signing in there does not guarantee that a device-only edit is available.
If playback or editing is slow
- Try one Gling project at a time. After saves finish, close other Gling tabs and reopen the affected project.
- Note whether the pause follows a cut, a click in the transcript, a seek, or a timeline change.
- Compare the same section with its original recording. Note any enhancement in use.
- For missing sound, volume jumps or sync problems, compare preview playback with a short exported sample when possible. See audio troubleshooting.
- If the source itself freezes or shows a black picture, check file and codec compatibility.
Slow playback does not by itself mean that the recording or final export is damaged. A successful replay also does not rule out an intermittent bug.
If one project is stuck loading
Check the account, original device and project filters using the project recovery steps. Preserve the project card and exact warning. An Invalid project message needs investigation; do not repeatedly create processing attempts or assume that deleting the card will repair it.
Send a useful report
Include web or desktop, browser or operating system, Gling version, project name, the time and time zone, the action just before the failure and a short recording if the issue is visible. State whether other projects work and whether the result is affected only inside Gling or after export.
